At present attached to the Department of Surgery, MLB Medical College at Jhansi in UP India as Professor of Surgery. Have been working in the Department since 1984 and was the Head of the Department from November2006 to Jan 2020. Graduated and then completed Masters in Surgery, in December 1981, from MLN Medical College Allahabad, UP India. Subsequently did a 18 months Fellowship course in Transplantation Surgery from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, at Chandigarh, India till December 1983. Incidentally this is one of the premier institutes in India imparting post graduate training.

During the 39 years in the Department of Surgery MLB Medical College Jhansi, both practiced and taught the art of General and Laparoscopic Surgery to both undergraduates medical students and post graduate surgical residents. This also included guiding the post graduate residents in their research work , an integral part of their training for the degree of Masters in Surgery. Have been an examiner for thesis for Masters in Surgery and also in the examination for MBBS and Masters in General Surgery course in many premier Universities across India.

Pioneered several surgical procedures in the Bundelkhand region of UP and also in the state of UP and India. In the early 90’s started performing several procedures for the first time in Jhansi and the whole of Bundelkhand region of UP. These included, Transurethral resection for prostate [TURP], extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), cardiac surgeries like Closed Mitral Valvotomies, for Patent Ductus Arteriosus and for constrictive pericarditis, Single incision Laparoscopic surgeries and many more. In the state of UP, have been among the pioneer Laparoscopic surgeons and also THE pioneer of Single incision Laparoscopic Surgery in the state. At the National level, too, have been among the pioneers of Single incision Laparoscopic surgery.
